email & active X

Help please,
When I copy & paste a WORD letter into Outlook Express I see the following message and the email when it is received will have a distortion of some sort (for example the address at the letter head might be split up onto incorrect lines or with extra spaces.)
"YOUR CURRENT SECURITY SETTINGS PROHIBIT RUNNING ACTIVE X CONTROLS ON THIS PAGE. AS A RESULT THE PAGE MAY NOT DISPLAY CORRECTLY"

QUESTIONS
1) IS IT WISE TO ALLOW ACTIVE X?,
2) IF SO HOW?
3) WHY IS THIS NECCASARY TO SEND AN email?
I have Win XP =SP2, OUTLOOK EXP 6, INT EXP 6.

Problem is the same for Plain Text and HTML
Thanks for any help

please forgive me for this hijack.
TECHNOTIGER, thanks for info re incredimail. I had eventually to go in their front door and do a manual download. It succeeded, where the "click here" didn`t.
