Eliminating helper.exe

Could a lister please tell me how to eliminate helper.exe 9(which I think is a remnant of a hijacker I've just cleansed) from System 32? I have Windows XP home. I've tried all the usual methods including newly-downloaded MS Antispyware, but this nasty seems resistant to everything and refuses to be eliminated manually.

Many thanks.

Thanks VoG. There's a daunting list of utilities there and I'm not sure which one I need. Would you mind being a little more specific please/ Many thanks.

Sorry!

Remove on Reboot

Thanks again VoG but when I downloaded it I got a huge bundle of crap as well which I didn't want blocking up my computer. Any other ideas for a free programme to eliminate a registry entry please? This helper.exe seems to be pulling in ads for on-line casinos the minute I connect to broadband.
