You cannot use more than one anti virus program on a PC as they will conflict stopping them from working properly.
Download the Norton removal tool from the symantec website and run it. Then you'll have to look under add/remove programs in control panel and see what else is listed and remove them as well.

Norton Removal tool click here

Then runn ccleaner click here and reboot.
Use ccleaner after any uninstallation to remove obsolete registry entries.

Then i would recommended uninstalling Avast and again run ccleaner and reboot.

Download Avast again or maybe AVG free from click here

As mentioned,do not install more than one Antivirus.

If AVAST is correct you still have to find and remove the other 3 AV programs.
Pick a anti virus program, any one, and just use the one. If you want a free one then either AVG or AVAST, want a paid for one then Kaspersky is well thought of as is NOD32. But do not install anything new till you get rid os the others.
Since you seem to have AVAST downloaded you may as well use that.

bookmarking as intrigued that comp says it has 4 av programs on board;

are you on dial up?

adn what appears to be on there in your add/remove programs?
