EJECT HARDWARE ICON

I have WinME upgrade from 98se.

My new digital cameras state with WinME there should be an eject hardware icon in the taskbar to be clicked in conjunction with plugging in or out the cameras via usb.

I have no icon & looked in Help which seems to confirm this.

Should I follow the guidelines as if I still have 98se....that is to say simply unplugging or plugging in camera with no added clicks required?

Many thanks.

Not sure about Win 98 as I only use XP but if you right click on an empty part of the Taskbar then select Properties, the Taskbar tab (on XP at least) has hide inacvtive icons ticked. If this is the same for you then either uncheck it or click 'customize' and look for your missing icon. Either of these should work.

Let me know if it does

In WinME it will appear when you plug the camera in. When you've finished using the camera, right click it to close it, then remove the camera.

In Win98SE a driver has to be installed and no icon ever appears.

No icons I'm afraid so will plug in camera & see what appears.

Cheers.
