I have a problem with my PC, when I start it up it says floppy disk in drive which there isn't and it won't go any further. Therefore I can't even get it on. Any suggestions? I was thinking of using the master CD which I got when I bought the Computer but not sure how to go about it.
Hi, I'm not sure, but it sounds as if the pc is trying to start from floppy. You should be able to stop it looking for the floppy by a small adjustment in the BIOS. Don't be afraid, it won't bite you ....... try to start-up again but this time during startup hold down the del key, this will bring up a Menu (CMOS Setup Utility), it does show you which keys to use in order to navigate the menu ..... in Advanced BIOS Features look for First Boot Device, this is probably set to Floppy, change it to HDD-0, then press F10 followed by Esc and reboot. Then say a little prayer and keep your fingers crossed. Good luck.
