Editing a PDF

Can someone explain in simple terms how to edit a PDF using Acrobat 7 Professional.

I simply want to change a single word and am really struggling.

can you not save elsewhere and then edit?

One way:

Tools > Advanced Editing > TouchUp Text Tool

Highlight the word to change and type the new word.

You may need to click elsewhere in the document for the change to show up.

Thanks folks.

Tried the advanced editing but it gives me an error which says "All or part of the selection has no available system font. You cannot add or delete text using the currently selected font."

Any thoughts?

If the PDF is protected, or has an embedded font that doesn't exist on your system you cannot edit it.

The down & dirty way of editing the PDF is to run it through an OCR package to convert it into an editable Word file - the font will then change to the nearest one on your system. Change the word then print it to Acrobat's printer driver.
Not perfect but it usually works
