Easy to use external backup over a network

Can anyone suggest an easy to use external HDD that I can attach to my router so that I can backup files etc from the various computers in my house. I currently have a WD500gb Worldbook that uses Mio-net software and it is a real pain in backside to use and configure.

I use a Lacie Edmini network drive for file storage. Almost no setup required - just tell the Lacie your Windows Username and Password and assign an ip address with your router - then just map the network drive to a drive letter.

For software I just use Allway Sync if I do big backups.

For day to day use I just use Windows copy and paste.

Thanks for your reply. Would the software automatically backup? Currently the only good thing about my current set up is that when the main computer starts up it automatically backsup any new files and deletes any deleted files
