E-mail will not send but will receive

My own fault really. I thought it would be a good idea (not) to get a domain name. I thought it might give me a project and even have a web page.

As a first step I thought I would get my email going since my domain name is surname>.eu But on setting up, following and rechecking the domain host instructions I could only receive e-mail. On testing, the error message (Outlook 2003 through XP sp2) said that the SMTP server could not be found and logged onto, it could be the server name it may require authentication or it may not support SSL.

The settings in "more settings" are as required Ie outgoing server requires authentication (as per instructions) and SSL box unchecked.

I tried using the old SMTP server and that worked with the new address but then did not work when I set the new address to default. Any help gratfully received.
