dwwin.exe message on shut down

  albu 17:19 24 Apr 2009

Every now and again when I try to shut down an error message appears:

dwwin.exe failed to shut down etc, etc

This is all I seem to catch then my pc shuts down. I read somewhere it's due to Dr watson.
It usually refers to Dr. Watson windows error reporting.

I Ran regedit and navigated to:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\AeDebug

Then set the "auto" value to 0 and reboot.

I also removed abobe reader from my system.

I still get the message every now and again when I shutdown.

Using win xp pro.

THANKS in advance for your help

Thanks for your help.

I don't have acrobat on my system anymore.
It's not in msconfig, start up also.

I do now use PDF complete. I think that was on my pc from the start without any problems.

Thanks for your help anyway rawprawn

I just wonder if it might be an idea to reload Acrobat then uninstall it using Revo Uninstaller
I am not sure it is the answer, but it may be worth a try.
