DVDs "failed" ex Recorder

  Pinelea 14:34 09 Jan 2006

I'm now on my third DVD recorder since May (software problems?), and am at last pleased with the LG Combi I bought just before Christmas. However, I have several part-recorded discs from the failed machines, which, naturally, aren't seen by the new equipment, because they weren't finalized

They're not recognised my PC's DVD drive either, as it stands right now. I'm confident there are files on the discs - I can see the colour-change. Is there any way I can get at them, to make them readable?

Maybe if you can finalize them ?

To finalize them I understand I must have the original machines on which the recordings were started - hence my problem - unless you know otherwise.
