What region is the drive set at?

Could be that some of your DVDs are not the correct region.

Waht software do you use?

I thought they were brandnames for the discs ? are you saying you have Sony Vegas

  Diodorus Siculus 18:36 17 Dec 2006

Do you mean that the disks you created don't always work or are they original DVDs from shops?

  charlton200 20:22 17 Dec 2006

I am having trouble copying things (file/programs etc) to disc.
Some disc's will copy OK but quite a lot I have bought have not.
I have bought different makes.
Yesterday I bought Sony DVD/-r cost me £5.99 and they did not work.

I was wondering what I was doing wrong or is it my DVD/rw copier built in my computer that can only copy certain thing.

I was hoping some good person could put me in the right direction.

Many thanks for your time.

Oh, i also meant to say that when i go to copy a file or program the software says please insert disc as though it has not recognised it.

Sounds like a possible burn failure somewhere along the line; take a look at CD BurnerXP and try it: click here
