Hi, quick question. just bought a DVD multiwrite drive and formatted a DVD-RAM disc as UDF-1 (NTFS - data).

Can anyone clarify that if i store data on this disc (800MB coursework), will any pc (running 2K/XP with NTFS) with a DVD-Rom be able to read the disc..?

I thought dvd ram came in a caddy so it would nt play in an "ordinary "dvd rom !

the disc that came with the burner is a ver.2.1/3x 4.7GB Data disc (without cartridge). According to the disc cover, don't touch the surface or it'll damage it..?!?!

Not a definitive answer, but --

Have recently used a Panasonic DVD-ROM that specifically states that it will read DVD RAM.

In fact it does read RAM discs written by a Pana DVDR E60.

From this I would deduce that a drive would need to specify compatibility with DVD RAM to read it.

The answer of course is to try it.
