DVD transfer (-) to (+) format and (+) to (-)

I have a stand-alone DVD Panasonic recorder (minus format). I wish to install on my PC a dual format DVD writer (+/-).
The problem I have is:- Currently any DVD's recorded on my recorder will NOT play on my DVDrom player on my PC. I can play DVD's that are plus format.
Question:- Should I be able to play all formats on my DVDrom, or is it that my recorder only records RAM formats and will not play on my PC?
The DVD's that use are DVD-R?

DVD drives can be very fussy about the media they will play. It can be a nightmare trying to find the correct media.

click here and enter the name of your players/drives and it may help you when choosing media.

The cheapest dvd players seem to be able to handle anything, the more expensive brands tend to be fussy.

For your PC select a dual format burner that can burn on anything.

Thanks for your reply but.

What I really want to know is,whether my PC DVDRom should play all formats of DVD's. As when I put a DVD (-), which I have recorded from my Panasonic stand-alone unit, it will not play on my PC. Should it??
I would like to play these DVD's on my PC.

I don't have a dual function PC DVD writer.

in my experience it should - I have a dvd-rom drive in my pc which has been OK with everything I have put in it, but other dvd-rom drives may be fussy about media, what type of dvd-rom drive do you have in your pc - manufacturer and model number - from this you should be able to find out on the net how it is with media.

It may be that your Panasonic stand alone dvd recorder is producing dvd'd it does not like, but dvd-r should be OK for any dvd-rom drive.
