DVD-RW disk not recognised by PC

I have a new camcorder Canon DVD-RW DC210. I can see on the dvd that my film has been recorded. But neither my PC, (DVD/RW drive) nor my laptop, straight DVD, can see the data. The film, of family on holiday, is important to me! What am I missing here, please?
TIA
Kimig

Possibly the disk requires to be "finalised" (especially as it is a RW disk).
I know that RW DVD's created on my DVD recorder will not play on anything else unless the disk has been finalised.

Hello Cocteau, thanks for reply. Unfortunately, I cannot finalise disk as there is no option on the appropriate menu - only "disk info" and "initialise".
I have asked Canon, but that is leaning on a straw.....
