DVD RW Advice

  [email protected] 19:33 29 Mar 2004

I want to buy a DVD RW. I know you will all have your own recommendations of good sites to purchase them from but what make should I really get? I am looking to spend about £100 but should it be +r, -r, +rw, -rw etc. (I need it in black also). Which would be the most universal? Which would play on most home DVD players? Any advice would greatly appreciated.

I bought myself a LiteOn internal DVD RW (all the + and - ) and it works well with my DVD player, which is also +/-.

You don't say if you want internal or external, but look here click here for a goog price.

It would be an internal.

Or even a good price.

Another plus is that you don't have to worry about buying the correct + or - discs.

I installed a Liteon unit recently and it has performed well straight out of the box. There are a number of suppliers offering this writer at less than £70. Mine came from Micro Direct as I could pick it up. A number of reports of this unit could find little to critical about.
My Liteon CD writer has also been good for a year or more. Seems to be good kit!

Thanks naggis, could you supply a link please? Also what is the difference between + and - ?

btw if you're also looking for a +/- multi-region DVD player Amazon do very cheap ones (that's where I bought mine) from click here

In performance, not a lot. Just a battle for market dominance.
