Hi Guys can you help??

For some strange reason both my DVD-ROM and DVD-RW are shown as "CD-Drives"

I uninstalled my Nero and Cyberlink and Image Burn software made no difference.

I went into system services and tried

Starting The

IMAPI-CD Burning Service

Rebooted but goes back to "Stopped" what do I do??

I don't really know much about this, except I'm pretty sure that the name of a drive isn't necessarily an accurate description of what it is or what it does.

You can name a drive anything you like.

That is what Windows call any optical drive
Any program you use will identify the precise make and function of drive

Any optical drive is treated equally by Windows and all require the same CDROM drivers.

It's a burning program such as Nero that is used to allow a rewriter to perform its basic role with blank media.

In the case of playing DVDs, you could turn to PowerDVD or a similar piece of software.
