DVD ReWriter on Laptop

Am looking for a new laptop and have a query re the DVD ReWriters. My DVD Player can only use +RW. Does this mean that I must get a laptop that can write to both +RW and -RW (or just + perhaps) if I want to watch things I record to disk from the PC? I notice that some laptops (eg the HP G62) say that it can only do -RW which seems like it could be a problem for me.

You need a drive that can read and write to +r and -r.To be honest i dident know there were drives that could read +rw only, others will advice better.Try and avoid rw if you can.

I wouldn't worry about it! After all DVD players (that will play just about any format) are available for sub £20.00.
