Not really anything to do with PCs but.......
Ive been trying to record an old home video on to DVD R for my family. it records ok,and plays back ok on the DVD recorder. When i try to play on another DVD player, nothing, cant even read it ! Yet DVD RW are ok. Anyone got any ideas why this is, and what i can do about it . Any advice gratefully received.

Are you recording the DVD on a computer and playing it on a dedicated DVD player? If so, I think you have to close the recording and not leave it open for multisession.

no not on a PC DVD recorder.

I think you have to finalise the disc in the machine it is recorded on.

Yes that works, what a plank!!!. Ive been using DVD RW and they seem to finalise upon completion without having to do it manually. Thanks very much for your assistance. :)
