dvd reading problem

some disks will not read on my pc in either of my drives.if the same disk is put into my sons computer it works fine.if he then copies it for me on his pc the subsequent disk will play no problems.anyone any ideas?

What type of discs are you using (CD/DVD) what player are you using on your pc and what is on your son's (once again CD or DVD)?

i'm using datawrite titanium dvd's.i'm using windows media player on my pc as is my son.

it used to work fine,so i'm assuming the right codecs are in.it may have started to do this after i erased another burning program roxio.i read somewhere about the upper and lower filters in windows media needing removing.is this correct and if so how do i go about it?
