I have just placed a DVD into my drive and I am getting no sound but if I play an audio disc I have sound. I have re-installed Windows player 11 and still no sound when I put in a DVD but now I am also getting the following message.

"Windows Media Player cannot play this DVD because there is a problem with digital copy protection between your DVD drive, decoder, and video card. Try installing an updated driver for your video card"

Can anyone explain what is going on, the last time I played a DVD a few weeks back all worked fine.

Thanks.

Trying playing other than with WMP.

Here is a free stand alone player if required for test purposes.

If not too inconvenient Try Restore to a few weeks ago.

Just downloaded and installed the K-Lite codec pack and all appears to be working ok.

Many thanks for your replies. And may I wish you a very Happy Christmas.
