DVD Media - +R or -R

  Whaty 08:46 08 Jun 2006

I want to copy a mixed bag of data, photo's, video and music from my HD onto DVD, the DVD will only be used on a PC (not a DVD player).

My question is, which media should I buy, DVD+R or DVD-R.?

i generally use -r's for general data and +r's for movie backups

BBez, is there a reason for this or is it just your preference?

Is there a significant difference between the two media types?

Has anyone got anymore advice on which media to use.... please.

I only buy DVD-R and CD-R , box loads of them, good for everything I have ever put on them.

It depends on if your DVD Burner can burn to both formats or not

I use the DVD-Rs as they are cheaper

Thanks everyone.

Rdave13, that link was just what I wanted... A quick read suggests it is broad as long but -R has a slight edge in respect to compatability?

Thanks again,
