DVD Help Please

Can any guru out there advise if I get a DVD+R and +RW machine for my PC can use the CD's that have DVD-R and -RW or must I use only the +R +RW.

I realise that there are 3 formats DVD Ram DVD+ and DVD-..

Thanks in advance.. I think I already know the answer but not 100% sure..

I presume you're talking about a DVD burner: If you get a DVD+R +RW machine it won't be able to read or write DVD-R or -RW.

As bobbyc says, you can get dual format machines these days. But if you're going for a single-format burner, you need to decide what you want to do with the burned DVDs. If you want to play them on your domestic DVD player you should check whether it will play -R or +R format first.
