I have backed up some of my DVD's to computer however when trying to playback I get various messages advising me that it cannot be played back due to certain reasons. These are detailed below, can anyone help or advise as to how I can resolve this, NB. this has only happened recently and I cannot think what may have changed to cause this to happen.

Error Messages:

1. Windows media player cannot play the file. The player might not support the file type or might not support the codec that used to compress the file.

2. Due to patent license restrictions, MPEG-2 encoding/decoding/playback is not available. This feature can be added by installing DVD-Video Plug-In.

Thanks in advance,

Ensure that DVD is Enabled from WMP>Tools>File Types.

Then install the Standard K-Lite Codecs pack, which covers the vast majority of users' requirements, from:
