Im thinking about upgrading my CD ROM drive to a DVD drive. Only i don't know what the difference is between though diferent types. What is an IDE drive? How would that differ from any other drive and what is Dual Layered? Thanks for the help.
ide - the standard connection for internal drives.Dual - layer - some DVDs can hold double the amount - 8gb rather than 4gb (or so). Best get a writer that can do this - it will also do ordinary disks.
The price will be about the same as well. Here's an explanation of dual layer - it's simple once you understand the principle:click here
