DVD Drive Has Stopped Working Under Windows

Morning all,

Upon resetting my packard bell computer to it's factory settings yesterday and reinstalling my software, windows is now unable to access my DVD drive.

The drive was working fine until i reached the latter end of the software installation and installing Itunes.

The device manager reports that:
"Windows successfully loaded the device driver for this hardware but cannot find the hardware device. (Code 41)"

I have tested the drive outside of windows by trying a linux live cd, and the drive worked fine.

I have tried reinstalling the device using the built in restore program that shipped with the pc.

Does anybody know how this could be fixed?

I am running windows XP with Office 2003 and McAfee Security Suite.

My Mistake,

There was a help guide on the packard bell website that told me how to fix this problem.
