DVD Backup

I want to backup my DVD movies using a DVD burner in case they get lost, damaged or stolen.

Is this possible or are DVD movies generally encrypted?

If possible, what is a good low budget burner that people would recommend? Does it require USB 2 or firewire? If so, what is a good (low budget) card for this?

click here DVD Shrink will help and it's free.

As Bapou says, DVD Shrink & Nero, works for me everytime. Burners are quite cheap these days, I prefer internal drives. here Pioneer 107 +/- 8X.

Is there not any encryption on these movies?

OPEN18 it's worthwhile also downloading DVD Decrypter free from click here although you probably won't need to use it unless you just want to decrypt the DVD and save it to hard disc. click here

Xevious the latest version is 3.2.0.15.

When I rip a DVD using DVD Shrink 3.2 I have a problem with stuttering and stopping when playing back the copy DVD on my DVD player, but no problems when playing via my PC.

Haven't yet worked out if it's a media, DVD player or Shrink problem.
