Dvd + - ?

hello could someone please tell me + - on RW discs mean. dvdrw +/- and cdrw+/-.

The plus and minus refer to the different formats that disks come in. Not all drives support all the formats so you need to make sure you get the right disks for your drive.This page might help click here

It's not actually a minus it's a hyphen. When the standard was first adopted those manufacturers who signed up followed the CD-R, CD-RW naming convention.

The manufacturers who didn't sign up banded together and invented the plus symbol to get a bit of oneupmanship, i.e. giving the impression that plus is better than minus.

If you are thinking of buying any equipment make sure it's both formats and also includes the newer dual-layer (double size).
