dual booting linux

does anyone know how to dual boot win 2000 and redhat linux 7.1? does it matter what operating system is there first?
i dont mind what linux boot loader i use, i just want to be able to use windows and linux.

any ideas would be great.

i would put windows on first and then linux.

doesnt matter if you use grub of lilo

and i would suggest you get a hold of partition magic and use that instead of letting linux do the partitioning.

I agree with huggyg71 - Windows first, then Linux. Either grub or lilo will boot Windows 2000 perfectly well. If you use PM to resize your Windows partition, remember to leave unpartitioned space for Linux, as it will create it's own partitions.

However....Redhat 7.1 is now getting a little long in the tooth (the latest version is 9.0), and I feel you'd have more success with something a little more recent. If you want to read up on the latest distros, have a look here:
