Ive installed Linux to dual-boot with XP but when the PC starts up it automatically wants to start with Ubuntu.Personally its not a problem but the missus gets all flustered as shes faced with more options than before.
I read somewhere that I can change that within Windows but cant remember how or where I read it.Google hasnt helped.

Changing Dual-Boot Option

If you installed Windows XP and another operating system, you may have opted for Dual-Boot. By default, Windows XP makes itself the default option when booting, and displays the menu for 30 seconds.

To change this :

*

Right-click on My Computer and select Properties
*

Select the Advanced tab
*

Then click the Startup & Recovery button.
*

From there, you can select which operating system boots first by default
*

You can also change the length of time that the windows menu will count down.
*

Once done click "OK" and reboot to test

Ta for the replies but I see my problem in editing the Boot menu as XP only sees two partitions not what they are and where I change them without deleting the Ubuntu options might be tricky.

If I were to change this line
default=multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(2)\WINDOWS
perhaps like this
default=multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)Windows\partition(2)
would that do it?

Go to run type msconfig select boot.ini
Frot there you can change the boot order.
Use the move down option to reverse boot order.

Going to throw this keyboard in the bin.

That didnt work as it would only swap with the Recovey Console.Ill tick this as resolved as Im going to search for some software for XP to recognise Ubuntu as an OS.
