this may not be the correct place for this, although it does have something to do with my computer.

a few days ago i bought a cordless home telephone.
unfortunately everytime i use it the internet goes offline.
this was never a problem when i had a phone with a cord, so i'm hoping someone out there could throw some light on the subject please.

thanks.

Providing the base station is plugged in to a filter, you should have no problems. Just had a look at my tri cordless set up and just the mainbase station plugged in to filter.

All your phones, whether cordless or corded, should be filtered as well as fax machines and Sky boxes, etc.

Is the cordless phone situated close to your wireless router? If so, their signals may be interfering with each other.

I have a base cordless phone with answering machine, with 2 other matching cordless phones in other rooms. Filters are on all wired points, and I have no problems. (W7, Wireless modem router with ethernet to PC and wireless to laptop)(Like gengiscant above)
