dropped broadband connection

My broadband connection keeps dropping out,
I have broadband with tiscali but the connection started dropping with the sagem modem they supplied so I installed another sagem modem I was given this didn't solve problem so I bought a D-link modem and still the same problem.
I have re-installed windows but still same problem,can anyone help
PS Tiscali say problem is not at their end.

If you have an ethernet card installed, reseat it

Replacing a faulty microfilter solved a similar problem for me.

Are you using a particular application whenever the connection drops. It happened to me, I was always using the same program, so I got rid and downloaded another that did the same job. No problems since

Check Lan Card Setting

Right click on Local Area Connection Display Icon on task bar

Click Status-General-Properties

At the top of display the type of Lan card will be displayed

Click Configure-Click-Advanced Tab

Click- Flow Control-Change to Enabled if Disabled

Click-Power Management Tab

Untick if selected "Allow Computer to turn this device off to save power

Thanks Ambra4, I was also having problems with dropped broadband connections. I followed your instructions above and, touch wood, the problem seems to have gone away.
