Driver upgrade

I have a ASUS P4R800-VM motherboard which has RADEON 9100 IGP video card.
It has been working fine for years and is still going strong, but up to a few weeks ago i had a 'old' CRT monitor and as long as i could see the display it was fine. Now i have be given a NEC LCD 73v monitor and wish to change the display size from 800 x 600 to 1280 x 1024.
Everytime i attempt to change it, it returns to the default of 800.
I have found that i require a video card driver upgrade but all the things that can be got for free on the internet i have to pay for the upgrade.
Is there a free site that could help or are all upgrade driver site requiring payment?

Hi.Started using a new 22" Samsung Tv/Monitor last week. Display and text are very good but still using the same 800x600 as the old monitor used, and have no problems with it.Mind you I have on board graphics on my oldish computer.
