I'm looking at a friends machine , Hewlwtt Packard Imedia. It came to me with a ton of viruses on. I,ve cleaned them all off and a lot of spyware. It looks like some of them have done some damge as we can't access the dvd drive. There is an exclamtion mark against it in contol panel / system. We thought it was faulty at first and bought a Pioneer dvd rewriter but that has the same problem. if we look at the error code we get" a driver (service) for this device has been disabled. an alternative driver may be providing this functionality. Code 32. Is it likely that a virus could have caused this and any ideas how to put it right? The system 32 folder also pops up straight away on boot.
