Driver for PCMCIA CD rom - HELP!!

  tolly2 13:00 22 Nov 2004

The Toshiba Portege laptop I have just aquired has a PCMCIA card CD rom. I am starting from a formatted hard disk and I need to load an OS. What driver do I need to get the CDROM working so I can load the OS from a CD?

Thanks, Tolly

Dddown Load the necessary from Toshiba
It may possible that a generic driver is pre loaded
have you tried - BIOS [Press delete during POST] - reset boot from CD - see what happens

There is nothing on the hard disk to work from as itr has been wiped then formatted.
Toshiba site doesn't come up with anything.
Any other ideas

The BIOS settings are not on the hard the compter and look for the message 'press F2 to enter set-up' or something similar - it will be F1, F2 or Del or the like - that takes you into the BIOS settings - select Boot sequence and change the 1st priority to boot from CDROM.
