Drive will preferm better connected to USB 3.0

When I connect my external Seagate USB 3.0 HDD,a message appears on screen, saying 'The device will run better connected to USB 3.0' I'm not sure if this is the correct wording.

The HDD is connected to the MB USB 3.0 ports. Device manager states, Intel USB 3.0 eXtensible Host Controller and Intel USB 3.0 Root Hub.

Any thoughts please

Thanks you

My last External Drive came with both a USB2 and a USB 3 Cable. Better just check which one you are using

Hi, I have viewed the link. Device Manager states Intel USB 3.0 eXtensible Host Controller ,but the 0100 Microsoft is missing ?

There was only one cable supplied,

I'm currently transferring a 33GB file form my USB 3 Flash Drive,to the HDD.The max speed is 24MB/s

Many new PCs have both USB3 and USB2 Ports.

Are you absolutely sure that you have not connected to a USB2 Port?
