Drive 5 not found?

xp pro
I have just fitted a new DVD re writer.

When I boot up I get a black screen
On it says
Drive 5 not found
Parrallel ATA PATA1
Strike F1 to continue F2 run set up
when press F1 boots up and the the player works but next time I start up its there again.
when I press F2 goes to a set up page which I am very unsure about
any help?

Accepted solution:

"Error message may be caused by a drive specified in BIOS that does not exist or is inoperable. Since it appears to be Secondary IDE channel slave, see if you have more than one drive connected to secondary IDE channel. Dell uses Cable Select, so slave would be on middle connector.

Then check BIOS settings for IDE devices and see if secondary slave is set to Auto or a drive type is specified."
