Dreamdirect negative & slide scanner

Radio Times has a negative scanner advertised by Dreamdirect for £119.99 + £4.99 p&p. The picture shows the make as PrimeFilm.

It's 1800dpi optical resolution and 4.2 million pixel images. Any advice on how this compares with a mid-price scanner like the Minolta at about £299?

You can also get a decent scanner as above for between £60 and £100 from PC World or Curries and the like.
