Dramatic increase in connection speeds

  Poitier 14:33 17 Nov 2010

Using 8mb Tiscali/TT package the connection speeds have increased from 7712/448 kbps to 23075/1020. The increase coincides with the completion of the alignment of Tiscali with TT and the landing of BT Infinity in my area. I note that the current TT package aims to give the maximum speed possible rather than up to a specific figure. A near neighbour who connects to the same pole and has an 8mb BB contact with another ISP has seen no increase in speed.

I know that BT are rolling out 'fibre to the cabinet' in certain areas.

Once this has happened it can mean that your old 'distance from the exchange' can now be classed as 'distance from the cabinet'.

If you are on a LLU circuit then those fast speeds are expected.

Don't knock it if you don't have to pay any extra!

Thankyou for the reply.I am almost as close to the exchange as the cabinet.I am on a LLU circuit and my neighbour is not, although it seemed to me that we were using common lines.
I am not complaining
