I have an HP Pavilion DV2000 laptop with XP SP3. I wondered if there is a way of deep discharging the battery which is a Li Iion 10.8V 8800MAh.
Car stoplight bulb - will take approximatly 1.5A so will take about 5 hours. Why?
Don't COMPLETELY drain battery or it may not fully recover,I know NEARLY completely draining then FULLY charging is good for lithium batterys life & capacity.
The battery is about 18 months old and was bought to give longer usage between charges instead of the original battery supplied. "Usage time" is now appearing to be getting less so I thought that a deep discharge might help.
Just set the Power Options on the laptop to go to standby when the battery is about 7% then plug in to mains again.
