I've just downloaded portableapps only to find out that the Clamwin with it is way out of date and attempts to update it have been unsuccessful (probably because I've no idea how to do it, unlike updating on my laptop). It does raise the question, however, how come the author of "Carry a computer in your pocket" in July's PC Advisor didn't mention this problem?
Thanks for the link, Woolwell. I decided in the end to use the porableapps create option which meant I was able to download the latest Clamwin as a portable app from the portableapp site and, by choosing the other apps I wanted create my own software bundle.
