Downloaded Software - Can I change the name

  wee eddie 11:56 08 Nov 2006

When I download Software I store it in a special folder before activating it so that should there be a problem I can re-install easily.

However, the name of the download can be confusing and it is often difficult to remember the name of the software contained there-in.

The question: Will renaming that download affect the enclosed software in any way?

I often do this to help me remember what and when i download,i add the date and name of the item, this doesnt effect the download at all.

I always change the name of the download so it makes sense to me, if I forget I rename it afterwards and its never caused a problem. Its the files inside the main file name you mustn't change as that will stop the program running as it won't find the file its looking for.

Same here, I frequently change the name of the .exe, as like you I find a folder full of Install.exe files is confusing.
