Download Speeds?

How fast would i be able to download if i was connected to a standard 802.11g router?

Or even an 802.11n router?

To the router of the G variant up to 54mbps. Not sure about "n". However to the internet anything up to 54mbps limited only to your internet connection speed.

The speed at which you can download will depend on the speed of your broadband service. As this will be much slower than your PC's connection to the router, whether "wired" or "wireless", the LAN speed is basically immaterial.

Where the LAN speed is significant is if you are transferring large files between computers within your own Local Area Network. Also, running a USB Wireless Network Adapter from a USB 1.1 port will limit its performance to the 12Mbps speed of USB 1.1

Download speed of a torrent will depend on selected up speed of peers/seeds & how many there are. It has nothing to do with your down speed
