I have 22MB Bethere broadband on my main PC i connect to my router via a ethernet cable and i can download at full speed 1.8 mb/s - 2.0mb/s but on my Sony vaio laptop i connect to my network wireless and i can only download the same file at 1.2 mb/s ?

I have set my Router to 802.11G and also my wireless NIC to 802.11G but that has not fixed it

Im running Windows 7 64bit

I think that on some routers they have different channels, maybe try another channel. You will need to access the router via your browser.

Best of luck !!

What speed do you get with the Laptop if you connect it by ethernet cable to the router? A wired connection will always be more reliable than "wireless".

802.11g has a nominal data transfer speed of 54Mbps but in practice this will be closer to 30Mbps. If your broadband connection is actually 22Mbps, then you probably want to be looking at 802.11n WiFi which, depending on the hardware, has nominal data transfer speeds of either 150Mbps or 300Mbps.
