Does windows repair the registry itself ?

On another pc help page some one has said there is no need to run Regseeker cause Windows repairs the registry it self is that true ? and how does it if it does ? cheers

As far as I am aware Windows will only 'fix' the registry if it finds that it is seriously damaged when starting up. In fact it is possible for the registry to be so badly damaged that XP will not start - see for example click here and click here

Windows certainly won't repair or delete orphaned entries and the like.

My favourire registry cleaner is RegscrubXP click here
