Does My Graphics card needs upgrading?

I am having trouble with the BTSport streaming video. (Picture and sound distorted on full screen.)

Broadband and Monitor OK.

Microsoft XP. - Ageing PC copes with other sites.

I am thinking that the Graphics card needs upgrading. (NVIDIA GEForce 4 MX440)

Would the Forum agree that this would improve the situation?

If so, which card? Not too "High end", as I am not a "gamer" and the PC may not last too long.

NVIDIA GEForce 4 MX440

This graphics card brings back so many memories of when I first stated out in computing in my forties so a few years ago. This GPU will definitely be an AGP card, (AGP is the slot name it fits into on your motherboard). It would be useful to know what motherboard you have or even make and model of PC to have a look,if possible, what components you have.

Think I've just thrown out one of those must be twenty years old?

Actually, not as old as you think. According to the Wikipedia, it was introduced in 2002.

Very odd as you are right, I would have put it older than that. We have certainly come a long way in just over a decade.

Motherboard is V400DB,chipset is Via KT400. 10 - 15years old.

But this hasn't answered my questions.

Is AGP still used?

Is AGP still used?

I see many VIDIA AGP cards on Ebay.

Would all/any of them work?

This your mobo?

Any AGP card should work.

2002 Surprised at that - had that card in my previous machine and have had this one since early 2005

Yes, I have the "hard Copy" manual.

Yes, I have the "hard Copy" manual. Says that AGP slot supports 2X/4X/8X cards

My NVIDIA GEForce 4 MX440 is 8X already.

Will this limit my choice?
