Dodgy processor reading

I bought a used, tested and guaranteed AMD Athlon XP 3200 CPU from a reputable dealer a short while ago. When I first started up the system that I just built it was reading as an Athlon 2500 and after a few restarts what with installing windows and whatnot, it's now reading as an Athlon 1900.
Any ideas what the problem might be?

You will need to set the front side bus in the BIOS for the correct settings we will need to know make and model of motherboard.

I believe the following settings should be applied to get it to read as a 3200

FSB: 200 MGHz
Multiplier: 12.5X

I think it should be 11 X 200Mhz giving a clock speed of 2.2Ghz. click here

Enter the bios and under advanced chipset features. set system performance to optimal and the fsb frequency to 200Mhz. press F10 to save settings and exit.
