hi guyssomeone told me you should dock your harddrive before moving you desktop pc.can someone please tell me how to do this & also how to undock it afterwards.i am using windows xp
I think he was taking the proverbial!
There is nothing you can do to a modern hard drive for transport, except remove it from the case and pack it properly in a foam insert of a proper drive shipment box. Many, many years ago (prolly 20 or so if my memory serves) - it was possible to Park hard drive heads for transport. Since then they have all been auto-parking.
thanksi think that must be what he meant but my harddrive is only about 18 months old so it should autoparkthanks for the advice i feel much better about moving the pc now
Also, think about all the millions of laptops, transporting Hard Drives every day!!
