.doc Problem

  RubyTuesday 10:53 17 Aug 2007

Good morning...I am applying for jobs and my CV on my computer is named .doc.wps Each time I send it via email or the job site, I am informed that they can't open it as they only use .doc

Why cant they open it when my CV says .doc? I dont know what to do now. Can someone help me please, I am running Vista Premium. Thanks.

Try File > Save As and save it as an .RTF file.

Show file extensions; click here

Then delete the .wps bit

Thanks guys for all your help, but nothing seems to work!! I really don't think I am going to be able to resolve this problem. Will have to print out and post my c.v. instead....bummer! Cheers.

Don't despair, all is not lost.

What program are you using to create your CV in?

Word or Works?

But the easiest way is as VoG™ suggests.

Open the document on your PC then go to File, Save as,... give it a different name to your original and use the drop down menu under Save as Type and select Rich Text Format (.rtf).
and save.

rtf documents can be read by almost every wordprocessor

Thanks pj123....am using Works as I don't have Word on my Vista. I will try what is suggested again and hope for the best. Will get back to you. Cheers again.
