Hello

My teenage daughter is always complaining that her PC is running slowly.

She uses MSN, ICQ and is a regular visitor to facebook and equideow.

Do these services or websites do anything that could be responsible for her PC slowing down.

Her PC has bags of memory, this has happened before, on one occasion with a brand new PC.

Thank you for your help.

Richard

If MSN messenger.
If she has messenger Plus Downloaded as well this can cause problems if not downloaded properly.
It can be found in add remove if it is installed.

She is using Avast anti virus software.

Thank you

What Anti-Malware-Spyware programs has she got running.
You would need the likes of Superantispyware.Malwarebytes and Spywareblaster [all free] as back up.
I am afraid Avast on its own will not stop the nasties.

But can you tell me if using the services I mentioned...MSN, ICQ.

And visiting the websites like facebook and equideow results in malware etc and anything else that can slow down the pC.

Thank you.

Yes I you can that is why you need decent back up programs.Something with full time protection.
Just run the free version of Malwarebytes and see what it finds.
Maybe run C cleaner to get rid of any junk. And do a Defrag might make it run a bit quicker.
