Do I need to upgrade my processor? What should I get?

Hi all, I'll make it short.

My PC suffers from "graphics lag" playing games like Diablo III and most First person shooters, any game that has a lot going on at one time, really.

I'm sure it's my outdated processor but I'm not sure what the best buy is to go with my £150 budget.

Here are my PC specs:

Processor: Intel Core 2 Quad CPU. Q6600 @ 2.4ghz Memory: 4096 MB Graphics card: AMD Radeon R7200 series.

Does my processor let my system down? if so which processor would be the best buy for my budget?

The short answer is 'Do not mess with trying to swap CPU's The reason is the mother board has other I/C's the chip set that are matched to that existingv processr. You might take a look at the graphics card which being AMD may not be a good match.

If the machine is a desktop trycreturning to the onboard graphics

It depends on the motherboard you've; see what processors are compatible with your motherboard and this would help you choose the best possible one.
